Here are
just a few of the many places of interest, both entertaining
and historic, which will provide enjoyable experiences for
all the family.
Bodmin Moor. Desolate granite moorland overlooked by
summit of Brown Willy, Cornwall's highest point.
The Port of Charlestown. St. Austell. A unique 18th
Century village and harbour.
Falmouth. Cornwall's largest port and the world's
third largest natural harbour. It's colourful maritime heritage
is enshrined in it's waterfront and the National Maritime
Museum.
Mevagissey. A genuine old fishing port with its labyrinth
of fascinating narrow streets and Cornish cottages. Mackerel
and shark fishing from here.
Padstow. With its busy harbour, trawlers, crabbers
and pleasure craft. Enjoy the maritime displays at the museum
and savour unique recipes at Rick Stein's restaurants.
Port Isaac. Unspoilt fishing village. Location for
Poldark TV series, Doc Martin and the film Saving Grace.
Tintagel. Legendary birthplace of King Arthur.
Truro. Cornwall's Cathedral city and commercial centre
offers great shopping, boat trips to Falmouth, evening entertainment
with the Hall for Cornwall and of course the three-spired
cathedral completed in 1910.
Wadebridge. Offers unique shops and plenty of places
to eat out, also the heart of the Camel Trail. Here you
can hire a bike to explore the beautiful Camel River, from
Dunmere near Bodmin to picturesque Padstow at its mouth.
